Preview Monday: DETECTIVE COMICS #34 and FAIREST #28

By Clark Bull Monday, August 4th, 2014

Welcome back for another installment of Preview Monday! This week, we’re giving you exclusive first looks at DETECTIVE COMICS #34 and FAIREST #28.

First, in DETECTIVE COMICS #34, Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato's first storyline concludes. Batman has been faced with an unsolvable mystery: a dead friend, an unknown assailant and a drug called “Icarus.” Has the World’s Greatest Detective finally been outmatched? Has Harvey Bullock called a truce with Batman? And is Annie in over her head as she searches for answers to her mother’s death? Look for DETECTIVE COMICS #34, co-written and illustrated by Francis Manapul and co-written and colored by Brian Buccellato, this Wednesday.

Then, in FAIREST #28, the final arc of FAIREST continues! Chapter Two of “The Clamour for Glamour” gives the characters at the Farm exactly what they’re wishing for: but there’s a catch. All the talking animals, birds, and other non-humans will need to share – by lottery – the magic Glamours that transform them into a human form!  Meanwhile, Reynard discovers that his attempts to woo a fairytale princess have earned him a one-way trip to a whole heap of trouble. FAIREST #28, written by FABLES artist Mark Buckingham and illustrated by Russ Braun, hits shelves on Wednesday.
