Rakish, cunning and possessing a tie to the supernatural world that’s brought them nothing but pain. Sound familiar? Yes, we could be talking about John Constantine, the “hero” of the upcoming NBC series Constantine and the DC and Vertigo comics from which it draws its inspiration. But we could just as easily be referring to Mary “Zed” Martin, the vision-prone artist embodied on the show by actress Angélica Celaya.

With new trailers for Gotham, Constantine and The Flash hitting the web last week, along with your first look at Ben Affleck’s batsuit and the explosive finale for Arrow, you could be forgiven for forgetting about DC Entertainment’s fourth new TV show to be greenlit for the 2014-2015 TV season—iZombie. Especially since The CW hasn’t yet released a trailer for it. However, that doesn’t mean we haven’t gotten a taste of what it’ll look like.
Yesterday, NBC gave us our first look at the new Constantine series heading to the airwaves this fall. Clocking in at around three minutes, this just-released trailer suggests that we can expect Constantine to be bleak, subversive and horrifying.

With production underway on Constantine, NBC’s new pilot from executive producers Daniel Cerone & David S. Goyer and director Neil Marshall, NBC, Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment have released the first image of series star Matt Ryan in character as John Constantine.
