If you’re a fan of iZombie, The CW’s just-returned adaptation of the classic Vertigo comic, then you know the key role that food plays on the show. iZombie’s take on the walking dead is far from the lumbering, decomposing, eating-straight-out-of-the-skull zombie that we’ve seen in most movies and shows. These zombies are intelligent, fully sentient individuals indistinguishable from the rest of us…provided they get their brains and a good spray tan.

After taking a break for the holidays (even zombies like making gingerbread houses and exchanging gifts), iZombie returns tonight with an all-new episode that will kick off the second half of the season.
If you don’t follow us on Instagram, you may have missed the special guests who have taken control of our feed these past few weeks, including two of the stars of The CW’s iZombie—Rahul Kohli (Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti) and Robert Buckley (Major Lilywhite—and a bigtime comic book fan).
The second season of iZombie is well underway, and if the first two episodes are any indication, this one may be even better than the last. Blaine’s human again! Major’s hunting zombies! Liv’s roomie is a spy! For a zombie show, the second season of this sharp Vertigo Comics adaptation definitely isn’t lumbering out of the gate. Best of all, it’s only going to get better from here, so if you’re watching, you have a lot to look forward to starting with tonight’s episode, which mixes some pretty shocking twists—and some pretty amazing dresses—in with this week’s mystery.
Based on the Vertigo comic by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred, The CW’s iZombie is a hard show to categorize. Part comedy, part horror, part romance and part procedural, it’s a show that thrives on keeping its viewers on their toes, never quite knowing what to expect from week to week. It’s a trait that extends to its characters as well, perhaps none so clearly as Blaine DeBeers, the brain-dealing psychopath that clashed with protagonist Liv Moore throughout Season 1.
