This Just Happened: Tom Taylor Comes Face-To-Face With FABLES Characters

SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read THE UNWRITTEN #49 yet and do not wish to know what happens, stop reading this post now (major spoilers ahead!).

THE UNWRITTEN #49 features the third and final chapter of the Orpheus in the Underworld arc, but that’s not all! This jam-packed issue also leads into THE UNWRITTEN’s highly anticipated event with the world of Bill Willingham‘s Eisner Award-winning series FABLES!

Above, take a look at the final page of THE UNWRITTEN #49 as Tom Taylor finds himself face to face with some of the witches from the 13th Floor and other well known residents of Fabletown: Mrs. Green, Mr. Grandours, Maddy, Ozma, Frau Totenkinder, Stinky and Gepetto!

"There's a paradox at the heart of this story," THE UNWRITTEN writer Mike Carey told Comic Book Resources recently. "The 'Fables' characters show up in 'The Unwritten,' but all of the settings and a whole lot of the characters in the story will be very familiar from the Fables world. So who's visiting who? It remains to be seen, and the answer is not what you might think at the outset.”

What does this chance encounter with the world of FABLES portend for Tom? What FABLES characters do you want to see Tom cross paths with? While we all wait with baited breath for the main event beginning in THE UNWRITTEN #50, sound off in the comments section below and don’t forget to grab your copy of THE UNWRITTEN #49, in stores now!
