Art Ops: If You Could Hang Out with a Work of Art, Which One Would it Be?
In ART OPS, the new Vertigo series by Shaun Simon and Michael Allred, the best works of art don’t just have...
The final chapter of the 5-part "Homelands." Boy Blue continues his enforced history lesson at the hands of The Adversary, his captor, and is finally reunited with his lost love. But is Happily Ever After even possible after so many centuries apart? Will he spend the rest of his life in captivity, or, when things look darkest for our hero, is it possible he still has one last trick up his sleeve?
Fabletown has finally gone to war against the Homelands, and they've brought powerful allies with them! Prince Charming and his fire team serves aboard the sky-treading gunship Glory of Baghdad, which is commanded by Sinbad and crewed by Arabian Fables. At the same time Bigby Wolf leads a mixed squad of commandos, Animal Fables and giants from the Cloud Kingdoms into the very heart of the Empire. The war has begun, but how will the Empire respond? This is the first issue of a 3-part story that will culminate in the oversized issue #75, changing the face of Fabletown forever.
In "Super Team" part 4, Ozma's super team is ready to fight, but there's a complication: Mister Dark isn't the only one of the Great Powers on the warpath. The North Wind just blew into town with bad news for Bigby: His ghostly son must die. Talk about bad timing! Remember when Bigby promised his father that "The next time I come after you, I've made arrangements to make sure I'm able to kill you"? That time is here! It's father vs. son. Will Bigby survive one battle so he can help with the other?
Art Ops: Ten Questions with the Creators
Art is alive. It has a soul. It breathes as it speaks and provokes. And sometimes it freaks out, escapes from its frame, and tears through lower Manhattan on a vodka-and-red-bull...
Part 1 of the 2-part "Father and Son," featuring phenomenal Art by Mike Allred (Madman). As tensions continue to heat up between Fabletown and the Empire, Bigby reluctantly decides it's finally time to square accounts with his long-estranged father, the North Wind. Bigby may not like him, but since he is the grandfather of his cubs, who seem to adore the old man, a trip home seems to be in order. So Snow and Bigby and all six (seven?) kids make the journey to the North Wind's keep.
"Witches" Part 3! Up at the Farm, things are getting dicey as the witches try one thing after another to deal with Mister Dark, only to be frustrated, halted and defeated at every turn. Meanwhile, the struggle for political power heats up as the scared Fables turn to the only one among them who's defeated Mister Dark in the past. Back in the long lost Woodland Business Office, poor little Bufkin is fighting for his life against the evil witch Baba Yaga. His strength compared to hers is nil, his allies are nearly useless, and his resources are few.
JACK OF FABLES #6
Part 1 of the 2-part "Jack Frost," featuring guest art by FABLES' Steve Leialoha. Retrieval vans are scouring the hills and valleys of Idaho and Montana, scooping up escaped Fables and taking them back to captivity in the Golden Boughs retirement village. So far Jack has eluded them, but how long can he hold out? The secret might lie in one of his past misadventures – when he was none other than Jack Frost.
