You are cordially invited to a party—to die for!

This month AMERICAN VAMPIRE arrives with an anthology featuring an array of stories set in the world of AMERICAN VAMPIRE. With “lost tales,” new characters and old favorites, these incredible stories are told some of the most talented writers and artists in the industry. Here’s the full line-up:

“The Man Comes Around” written by series creator Scott Snyder and illustrated by co-creator and ongoing series artist Rafael Albuquerque

“Portland 1940” written by Greg Rucka and illustrated by J.P. Leon

SCALPED Tuesday Tonic with editor Shelly Bond

This edition of Tuesday Tonic is dedicated to someone else’s book for a change.  Shocked?  You should be.  Here’s a solid three-page sequence from SCALPED #59 — the penultimate issue of the series.  The choreography alone blew my tiny little mind into bits of red fluff.  If you’re not reading this bloody crime thriller, it’s the perfect time to double down and prep for the grand finale!   The ninth trade paperback as well as issue #59 are in stores next month.

Comics have become pretty flashy these can read them digitally on your ipad, kindle, phone, etc. The printed pages are slick, the colors are alive and the packaging is top grade. There’s movies, tv shows, toys, and numerous other ways to engage with the product. It’s easy to lose sight of the fact that at the heart of all this, it’s still comes down to lines of black ink on plain old white paper.

Scalped #42 Preview

I had the pleasure of meeting Jason Aaron and artist R.M Guera at New York Comic Con a couple of weekends ago. Coincidentally, it was the first time both writer and artist of SCALPED ever met! Can you believe it? Check out their amazing work together in the gut-wrenching conclusion to "The Unwanted." [gallery link="file"]
