If you’re a Fables fan, 2012 is proving to be a great year with an exciting Toyland-set storyline and the launch of Fairest, the well-received Fables spinoff that focuses on some of the feisty female residents of Fabletown. It’s bound to be legendary.

SDCC 2012: Vertigo: Get Jiro!

In a future where master chefs control the city like crime lords and diners will literally kill for a seat at the best restaurants, one renegade sushi chef will ignite a war between kitchens that will leave far more than discarded seafood in its wake. GET JIRO! is a stylized send-up of modern food culture that could only come from the mind of Anthony Bourdain, the New York Times bestselling author and star of TV’s “No Reservations” and “The Layover.” Released earlier this month to great acclaim, Get Jiro!

Vertigo: A View From the Cutting Edge of Comics

For close to twenty years, Vertigo has been home to some of the most imaginative and original comic book storytelling in print. It’s quite a legacy, but with ongoing titles like Fables, American Vampire and The Unwritten and new favorites like Fairest and Punk Rock Jesus, Vertigo’s current stable of writers and artists seem more than up to the task. Whether you’re a relatively new Vertigo fan, or have been with the publisher since the very first issue of Sandman, you’re not going to want to miss this look at where Vertigo will be taking us over the months ahead.
